Constructed in 1890, this well-detailed, two-story, stucco-over-brick, Romanesque Revival-style duplex was built in the Goetz/Cathedral neighborhood of St. Joseph. Lot size 120 x 120 with approx. 2000 square foot per duplex.  The front features a symmetrical facade topped by stepped parapet with gaugework detailing.  The central bat of the doublehouse features windows with rusticated stone lentils on the first and second stories.  The portion of the parapet over the central bay is further embellished with a pediment metal gable with raised floral decoration.  Porches were originally supported by elaborate turned posts of the Queen Anne design.  On the interior, both units were originally mirror images of each other.  Numerous interior features remain, including woodwork with bull’s eye cornerblocks, four-panel doors, pocket doors, and central staircase railings with heavily-turned newel posts.
