This one story, three bay composite frame cottage was built c. 1885 and has both Queen Anne and Colonial Revival influences. The complex hip and gable roof is covered with asphalt shingles. The eaves are projecting and plain with frieze and gable ends covered with scalloped shingles. Weatherboard siding covers the exterior walls.
Full width, U-shaped, hipped roofed front porch is supported on columns with Doric capitals. Two separate entrances.
The home is currently divided into a north and south apartment, but could be easily returned to a single family home. The south unit is presently lived in by the owner.
The spacious yard contains pear trees and grape vines and has room for a garden and a two car garage.
Located on a large lot, this home is across the street from the historic Patee House National Museum and the St. Joseph Doll Museum, and is just blocks from the Pony Express stables.
