In 1887, German immigrant Adolph Stuebner started construction on what would become a very modern factory and cleaning business. They specialized in the manufacture of feather pillows, upholstered furniture, clothing, as well as the cleaning carpets, rugs, and draperies. The company became so successful that they grew and grew. The first addition was completed in 1892, the second a year later. Then in the boom years of the yearly 20th century they expanded at least three more times.
