This structure is a two story brick duplex built in with Italianate style influences. The structure has a rectangle plan with truncated hip roof. The original structure may date to the 1870s but no City building permit was found to verify this. The façade and the addition on the north side of the structure were added by 1888. The Lysaght House is a contributing structure in the Cathedral Hill Historic District.

In 1880 Mary Lysaght in bought lots 14, 15 & the east half of Lot 16 1880 from Amanda Corby. Mary's husband John was a dry goods merchant at 427 Edmond. The couple never lived here although the Lysaght family owned the property until 1919, when Allie McInerny, wife of Dr. J.M. McInerny, bought the property. Betha Day, Allie's sister inherited the property owning it until 1956.
