Tour this gorgeous home and the regal neighborhood it calls home!
Walking tour of the District during the two-day tour!

This exquisite example of Second Empire architecture was the home of John S. Lemon in 1874.  The home was designed by E.J. Eckel.  Many of the homes original amenities are still intact, including the grand staircase, complete with stained glass windows and quarter-sawn oak panels.  Mr. Lemon was a banker and part owner of the Tootle Lemon Bank.  The home originally had two parlors, gourmet kitchen, music room, dining room, and master bedroom suite.  These areas will be on the tour.  There were also originally apartments for the chauffer, gardener-fireman, maid, cook, and butler.  Presently, the home is gently converted into 11 apartments.  Come see how people of the era lived and how the building is being enjoyed today.

A Walking Tour
