The Johnson/Wyeth/Benkula House

2522 Francis Street

Built circa 1908 by Richard S. Johnson, a salesman for the Richardson Dry Goods Company, this home is sure to be a delight to all who enter.  An example of Dutch Colonial Revival architecture, the home retains much detail of that style, including a gambrel roof , full-width porch with double Colonial Revival wood columns, the leaded front first story window, and an oriel window to the west side of the front door.   One is immediately greeted by the tranquility and sounds of a beautiful fountain when stepping onto the porch.  Throughout the home, the current owner has carefully renovated and tastefully decorated each room.  The bedrooms are beautifully designed with themes that create an atmosphere of comfort and warmth.
