The Hundley-Boder Home
2649 Frederick Avenue
This 1900 Georgian Revival home was designed by architect Edmund Eckel for S. Woodson Hundley, an officer in the giant Hundley-Smith Dry Goods Company which was founded by his father, John Boring Hundley around 1854.
This home features a center porch with wood columns and balustrade. The entrance door features sidelights and a fanlight transom. The 2nd story center window also has sidelights and a beautiful entablature window header, topped by a semi-circular carved wood detail. The small hip roof dormers feature leaded glass windows.
Mrs. Fanny Boder, widow of Louis Boder, purchased the home in 1913, where it remained in the family until the latter part of the 20th century.
