The Fairleigh Home

2635 Frederick Avenue

This 1902 Eclectic home was built by James O’Neil Fairleigh, son of W. G. Fairleigh, who partnered with Milton Tootle in starting the city’s first wholesale house.  O’Neil was a real estate developer and developed Fairleigh Place, the subdivision across the street where the family mansion stood.

The house has a bungalow style porch with wooden columns and balustrade.  The second floor balcony has paired turned columns with shingled pedestals and an oval leaded window.  The side windows on the first floor door and window are of leaded glass.
